Hello folks:
Wondering if anyone can help me out. I run FS2004, and specifically when I selct the DVA 757/767/777's for a flight an eror pessage pops up that says Flight Simulator has run out of virtual memory and will be shutting down. I ran a disk defrag and a disk cleanup, and have about 35% available memory on my PC. Any ideas? I hate to not be able to fly these great airplanes.

You can try turning off a bunch of stuff running in the background via MSCONFIG. The way I have my computer set up for that is everything under the STARTUP tab is unchecked (turned off) and everything except Microsoft under the SERVICES tab also unchecked. You can also try to increase your virtual memory size in the Control Panel under System Properties/Advanced tab. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem with Americas Army a while back the solution was to update my video card drivers those plane models are probably newer than your drivers and they don't support your old drivers
try it and let us know if that worked

well first you need to figure out what video card you have if it's nvidia go here http://www.nvidia.com/page/home if you have an ATI card go here http://www.ati.com/
then download the newest drivers for your particular card you need the model # and chipset info to get that the easiest way is to go to start>run>type in DXDIAG go to the display tab and the top left box will give you your info on the video card you have then go to the manufacturers site and download the latest drivers for your family of video cards

Mark are you running winxp? If so then right click on your task bar and left click on task manager. Bring that up and copy that screen. Post it here. Most of us can help you if we see what is running on your system that doesn't need to be.

Also don't remove everything from using msconfig. If you do you will kill what processes are needed by your antivirus. Its not hard to shut down unneeded processes but you do need to pay attention to what needs to be run and what doesn't

Andrew there should be a readme in the download.but for the most part when you start it up theres a list of all your back ground programs on the right of the list click and it and it says either stop,no action.or stop and restart.if you exspand that window out in that list it tells you what every thing is and its recomendation.check out the readme file and after that if you dont understand how it works let me know and ill be glad to help you out.
