Am having troubles with my FS. I reformatted my H/D about a month ago. After reloading only selected addons to FS, I made a mistake of loading a service pack upgrade to the Flight1 ATR without loading the aircraft first. Then without thinking about it, I loaded the original aircraft without uninstalling the service pack version of it first. That's when things started to go south on me. My system is really running poorly. I am now getting sporadic display issues like I had before reformatting the H/D. When I am in spot plane view I am getting little gray horizontal rectangles overlayed on the aircraft only. This happens only when FS has been running for several hours (on those long flights of 6 hours plus). The rest of the scenery is fine, and I have no display issues when using other applications. I installed the PMDG 744 (had already installed the PMDG 73G series with no problems using it), but when I tried to use the 744 FS went into extended periods of random stuttering.
I would really like to attack this problem in a systematic manner, but am open to suggestions as to how to proceed. I'll put my system specs at the bottom of this post. My first thoughts are to : (1) uninstall FS; (2) uninstall all my FS addons; (3) delete the entire FS9 folder from Program Files; (4) and delete the FS folder from Documents and Settings to clear out the FS9.cfg file, etc...
Am wondering if is wise to get a registry cleaner to see if there are any problems with the registry. Not keen on this idea, but maybe it's worthwhile. This should tell me if there any lingering FS entries after I have removed them by hand.
I am also wondering if I am having a heat related issue with the CPU. I keep my vents cleaned, and have opened the case to blow out those dust balls, and ensured that the cards are properly seated.
Yes, I have a registered copy of FSUIPC. And I have re-installed my drivers for my GeForce 5600X graphics card.

512 MB RAM
120 GB H/D single partition
GeForce 5600X with 128MB
XP Professional
Any thoughts?
