Is anyone having problems with FSINN and sucking down the system.
I was flying along last night inbound to Midway and had FSINN running with PMDG 737 and everything was running fine at around 8-11fps. All of a sudden everything stopped and the frame rates were reading 1. Yes that is 1 frame rate per second.
First thing for me is to get off of the network so I shut down FSINN and the frame rates came back up around 8-11fps again. Re-loaded FSINN and back down to 1.
Has anyone else had problems like these or know any solutions? The frame rates were normal until coming into MDW then all of a sudden were gone.
I do not run a very fast machine and have always had problems with framerates. I really do need a new system but right now I am running an AMD 1.4ghz, with 768mb DDR Memory, ATI 9700 Pro 256MB DDR.
Any help is appreciated,
Tony

Tony,
That's very interesting. I was flying the PMDG 747 from Atlanta to KORD on Saturday afternoon in some weather when something very similar happened. My frames dropped suddenly to around 1 and the aircraft eventually went out of control.
I had FSInn loaded, though not connected to any network at the time. I just figured that the frame rate drop was due to a combination of the PMDG 747 and weather .... but maybe FSInn did have something to do with that.

Funny you should mention that, Tony.
Last night I was at ATL for the flight to LGA. I have had no problems with SB3; but I figured I would try this flight using FSInn. All was fine, until I began taxiing to 27R for departure. My sim froze up solid. Absolutely nothing would change. I couldn't even escape with CTL-ALT-DEL.!! Finally had to shut my PC down by holding down the "off" button. I havent had a freeze up with SB3 in months. GO FIGGER.
Then I saw your post here. Needs more testing something is suspicious here

Ive had that same problem before but it has been really rare. Happened last night when I was on final for the group flight. A one FPS landing is not fun while in the Concorde

I am wondering if it is the Microsoft pci network card I have. Thinking of taking it out, plugging in via usb and testing that out to see what type of framerates I get.
I do like buying a new computer better than messing with this one, but not sure that is the right thing to do right now being the Holiday season and all.

Well it seems the problem is the same for more than just a few. I too have grave issues with FSINN problem is, I really like the program. Two things happen when I use it. If there are multiple pilots around I have a slow frame rate or a full lock up to the point of hitting the off button like you did Vincent. The other thing is, voice will quit on me at any given time - it may be as a result of something im doing in the cockpit, I have yet to isolate the problem then the only fix is to restart fs. NO FUN. The weather generator is awesome the snow, rain and clouds along with the sunsets are wonderful, but you are correct it needs some work.
If someone has a solution besides the fastest computer with the best card please let me know.
