My motherboard can handle only PC133 or DDR266 types of RAM. Which of those 2 types is better?
I currently have:
1X -PC100 - 128MB RAM (i dont know how it works on this thing)
1X -PC133 - 512MB RAM
Can I put together 1 DDR266 and my 512mb PC133, and get rid of the PC100 of 128MB, so i can now have 1Gig of RAM?
Thanks

Eugenio,
If you know who makes the motherboard then I'd look on their site first but if it supports both then I'd say yes on your question. The only thing is that the DDR266 memory will only run at the PC133 speed as to make it all compatible. So you'll lose the speed increase the DDR266 gives you (which may be marginal anyway).

Thanks very much Chris
The motherboard is an "Alaska U8668 Grand", I ran a search on it, and that's where i got my info from (about the memory)
In other words, i won't win anything by upgrading right? I'm in the process of checking up on computer parts to possibly build my own new PC.

Going from 768MB to 1GB? I wouldn't say it'd be a "OMG this is freakin' fast" upgrade. What kind of Processor,Video Card do you have?

I actually have 640mb now lol
I'm running a P4 1.8ghz / GeForce4 MX440 128MB AGP4X (i love it) / Soundblaste Live 24bit soundcard (it's ok, not that good) / Harddrive is 19 GB total, with 5GB left of space
I get around 10 FPS with good quality settings, and around 5 FPS online

Eugenio, try to put the same speed of BUS in every memory chip, otherwise, the CPU's gonna work with the lowest speed to avoid conflicts.....so you put PC100 and a pc133 togheter, CPU is going to clock them both at 100.
So the same for DDR266 and PC133.
Salud, compadre!
