In FS2K2 while in external view and selecting the options tab, you used to be able to rotate around the aircraft and set whatever view angle you wished.
I have not found this feature in FS9. The only view angles you are able to select are the default angles just as if you were outside of the aircraft.
Am I missing something or was this feature deleted in FS9?

If you are inside a Virtual Cockpit you can pan around without set angles. The 2D cockpit only permits the preset angles as was the case in FS2002.

OK, outside of the aircraft. When you click on "View", "Options", a small window pops upen with the last outside view you were looking at.
You used to be able to drag a red line around the aircraft that would rotate the view around the aircraft to whatever infinite angle you wanted to see the aircraft from. FS9 doesn't seem to have this feature.
I'm trying to find out if I'm missing something or if this feature was deleted from the current version.

You need a hat switch on your stick.

So instead of using the red line in the box with the aircraft as in FS2K2, you now have to use a hat switch?
Where do you grab the aircraft in the box to rotate the view, or is this not required any longer?
The number pad with NumLock on or off doesn't do anything.

SHIFT+ENTER and SHIFT+BACKSPACE will have the effect of up and down movement. To do the panning, use CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER and CTRL+SHIFT+BACKSPACE. Those combinations will allow you to move around the aircraft in pan mode.

Well I've known how to move around with the keypad. My point was, there was no way to use an angle other than eight fixed view angles that FS provides if having to use the KP. They apparently do not have the pan feature to set the angle in a separate box as in FS2K2.
Now that I have the CH yoke I see what you mean about the panning.
