Make sure you don't have any AntiVirus stuff on at the time you're trying to connect.

If you are using dial up and you lose conection with your ISPwith SB3 or FSInn you have to close Disconnect and Quit the SB3 or FSInn program while FS is still running. This can be done through the upper task bar. Then restart SB3 or FSInn and then reconnect to the multiplayer session.
SB3 will do losts of odd things if you do not back out of it when ISP is lost. I've had to reload SB3 many times when I did not go through this process and have had that message too.
I hope this helps...

If you were flying online before check the following
- Does it stall on checking for updates to SB?
- Have you added a router or any network device?
- Have you installed any type of software firewall, anti-virus program or anything that might affect your connection

yes we added a new router, so does this mean that we have to uninstall flight simulator and reinstall?

"28) What ports does SquawkBox use for network communication?
For connecting outside your local network, SquawkBox uses TCP port 6809 and UDP port 3290 for outgoing connections only. SquawkBox does not accept any incoming connections. The DirectPlay system used by Microsoft Flight Simulator for multiplayer functionality uses a number of network ports, but those are only used internally for communication between Flight Simulator and SquawkBox."
