I am having some problems with Squawbox and my frame rates. After some period of time (variable), my frame rates drop dramatically. Everything starts out just fine, then inexplicably I start having real problems with framerates. If I disconnect, they return to normal. It has happened with the FeelThere 733 and 735, and now with the PSS 772ER. After disconnecting, the frame rates drop back down again. I checked the Pete Dawson forum and found nothing there. Does anyone else have problems?

I too notice a significant frame rate hit when connected to SB3. I don't know why. I wish there was a good alternative.

YES! I have this exact problem! While offline my Frame rates are great and everything is running very smoothly, I connect to SB and it still seems to be fine however mid-flight (or even worse right when im on final approach) my frame rates drop drastically and this only happens on SB. So, I did a little work and i tracked it down to the weather updater. Apparently for me, after it updates the weather (regardless if its clear skies or overcast) my framerates drop. So now i turned off atomatic updates, put it to only 10miles lock on destination and update it manually every once in a while. Maybe i should switch to FSinn...doubt they have this stupid problem.

Ummm.. I use Active Sky for weather. I think I'll check to ensure SB isn't set to update the weather. Good one Andy!

SB sucks, period. I flew the event yesterday and was down to 3 FPS on the approach. I even turned down a few settings in anticipation of just this happening.
There were only two other aircraft on the ramp at KDFW.
On IVAO I can keep my settings where they were and have several more aircraft on the ramp before taking a hit...and it's no where near as bad as SB.

In personal experience, compared the two SB and FSINN, SB was less of a framerate killer than FSINN, Weather with FSINN and the VATSIM connection when there are quite a few other pilots (about 4) fps drops runs as if slower than dial up. So I think SB is better than FSInn. Is there anyother programs out there that might be better?

Oddly enough, SB3 kills my framerate on FS2004 only, FS2002 is great with it. So i fly many of my online flights on FS2002.

I had the same problem i went to eskyworld to fly online no more problems.its best when flying online to use frame rate friendly aircraft.unless you have a good cable connection and a fast computer.

My framerates are great for about 20 minutes then they drop off really bad. When they drop I get anywhere from 12FPS down to 3. And this never fails it always happens with in an hour of being connected. I've tried many things to try to find a way to get better framerates like connecting to other VASTSIM servers. Making sure my antivirus programs are shut off and no other programs or TSR's are running in the background. Turning off and disconnecting active sky. Disabling SB weather and even lowing my display settings. Nothing seems to work no matter what I do.
I like VATSIM and I have over hundred hours on there. But I don't fly any flights over 1 hour because of the bad framerates. Maybe I should look into IVAO and fly there more. I have only done a few IVAO flights. But if I can connect and maintain a flyable framerate then I will fly there.

I had this problem with SB AFTER I upgraded it to the latest version. Fortunately, I had the old version (don't remember the number, but it was the one they had before the latest update), and re-installed it, got rid of the latest version, and it works just fine.
Are you guys using the latest update, or the older? Could be a prob with the update...
