I landed short of the runway again and this time it was on an ACARS check ride. I hope that doesn't stop me from changing aircraft. I executed a good landing a KBOS tonight but I was only on VATSIM and not on ACARS. I really want to fly the 737 so I can get more interesting flights instead of the same old ones.

Well, I'm not going to be grading your exam, but I'd say it'll keep you from passing your checkride. Being able to land on the runway is a rather important aspect of handling an aircraft. If the Check Ride is failed, I'm sure they'll inform you when you can resubmit.

Jared, if you need some help, please don't hesistate to email me or especially George Lewis and get with a mentor. I am not sure if they have that copilot program up and going yet but email him and he can point you in the right direction. Keep plugging away and you will make it to the 737. Good Luck and CHEERS!!!

hey Jared ..i know how frustrating this can be my friend..about the copiolot program ken was talking about ,maybe u wanna check out the fsnet..it allows u to be a captain or a copilot in the same flight with someone else..so u could be the copilot while george is flying the aircraft ..maybe u wanna check it out..
GOOD LUCK MY FRIEIND..:D

Jared,
I can't speak for either Dan or Tony, but for a 777 check ride, landing short of the runway would constitute a failure.
As the others mentioned you should e-mail George Lewis, and he can set you up with an expert 737 pilot. In the mean time keep practicing, and don't give up, before you know it you'll be greasing every landing.

Jared, what was your IAS on final? Also, were you heavily loaded or not? If your speed was too low and/or you were very heavy, that could make you land short. Just some things to keep in mind.

Remember to keep your power up to maintain your rate of descent on the approach. Send me an email and we can go up and work on whatever you need help with - or I can set you up with a mentor.

Sorry, not trying to hijack this thread. I'm a new pilot and am wondering where I can get this FSNet software. And, how can I sign-up as a co-pilot on a short hop with someone on VATSIM and any other online server?
I'd really like to see how online flying with ATC works. Please post or e-mail me with instructions.
Thank you. <salute>

Thank you, Lewis.
Well, if anyone uses the software & is willing to try and coordinate schedules, I'd like to give it a go sometime.
