My Disc four is damaged (both of them) and I need a solution. I reinstalled FS and I am at Disc four with no luck. What can I use to get off really hard water stain looking things?

Your disc is fried. You can request one from Microsoft or search the forum for the no disc patch.

Yup. I had that happen to me. I guess I was using FS9 too much. I called Microsoft, they asked for some info and sent me a complete replacement at no charge. They even covered the shipping. A 5 minute call. Excellent Customer Serivce on their end.

And personally, I install the no-cd patch as soon as possible. I'm not taking any chances with my CDs - I leave them stored away for reinstalls only...

George, do you have any issues with the patch? I have heard certain add ons don't work right with the patch, like any mesh add ons.

I'm using the no-cd patch since day one and I'm not having any issues... a lot of addons installed.
Just in case remember there are 2 no-cd patchs one for FS 9.0 and other for FS 9.1.
Regards

David, I have never had a single issue relating to that. All that is modified is checking to see if the stupid CD is in the machine. The bigger issue to me more than inconvenience though is the fact that the more you handle the CD, the more chances it'll have problems, AND I have seen CDs explode in CD drives... I've had 3 or 4 of them happen to me over the past 10 years or so...

September of last year I had a disc explode on me in my drive. I was playing and then I saw an error message on the screen. I just figured it was trying to read a file and hit the "try again" button. Nothing happened but the game locked up. So I figured the disc needed to be cleaned.
Opened the drive and I heard this crunching noise...so I thought...dang. Drive is going bad. No biggie.. $20 tops for a new drive. Then I saw what had happened. The disc had shattered into about 1,000 pieces. Was like confetti in there.

Yeah, when it explodes it makes a pretty noticable boom! Worse, you're picking up pieces for quite some time.

$33? Heck, you can probably buy a whole new copy cheaper than that.

I would imagine that if you could produce proof of purchase it'd be cheaper. Might be a good idea to head to wal-mart or someplace and buy it again. $29 is what it costs here.
after you install it, update to 9.1 and then use the no-cd key and stuff them in a SAFE place.
