Just purchased a nvidia 6800 card. Anyone running this type card what drivers do you use and/or which work best? I'm ditching my 9800 pro b/c of lack of water textures and "issues" with FS9.
Or, I'll throw out a general question: What are the best forcware drivers for FS9?

The Omega drivers used to be awesome. They stopped making them for nVIDIA though.

Andrew,
I am running Nvida 81.85 with my 6600 AGP card. When switching video cards it is critical to use a video driver cleaner to remove all files and drive CABS on the system. There are free ones available. Send me an email and I'll dig up the one that I use.
Also, make certain that you are running the latest Directx version and that the BIOS AGP aperature is set to the max. setting your motherboard supports. Should be 8X.

Thanks for the recommendation. I did find a driver cleaner program referenced from guru3d.com and also will try the latest WQHL's (????) official drivers. Can't wait for the card to arrive.
I'm sick of my kitchen floor looking ocean that the ATI9800 spews out. I'll post comparison screenies once I get things squared away. Plus, 4 more pipes!!!!

81.98 version, from nVidia's website have worked for me perfectly, gave me excellent performance and nice graphics. I'm using a GeForce4 MX440 (not even close to yours, but does the job)

The best approach to removing a video driver for the purpose of upgrading drivers or changing vid board manufacturer is to be absolutely certain that there are no remaining files on the system from the old system.
First, remove the video driver in Control Panel Software Remove.
Then reboot the system going into Safe Mode. Run driver cleaner. I use Diver Cleaner Pro, it is free and can be found by Google. Driver Cleaner as its name implies searches for orphan files and CABS eliminating them from your system.
If you are installing a new board power down and install the new board. Power back up and permit a normal boot. It should come up using a generic video driver. Then open Device Manager and go to the Vid adapter to update the dirver using the version of Nvidia that works best on your operating system and hardware configuration.

Got it! Thanks. I dl'd Driver Cleaner Pro and several of the Forceware Drivers mentioned in this thread. Since 81.85 specifically addresses an FS9 issue, I won't use anything before 81.85. I'll keep you posted. Good bye Kitchen Floor!!!!!!!!!

Eugenio, I think you should update it. I have the exact same card as you, and I'm at 84.21, check via the Nvidia site.
