I just recently joined and have been hanging around the water cooler to see if i could find this question already posted. How does one know when they select a flight if it counts toward their hours for promotion to captain?
By the way, it looks to me like this is great airline to fly for! Lots of people willing to help out. Thanks for the opportunity.

Welcome aboard Steven! Go to the Pilot Center and click on the Browse Schedule link and you'll find all kinds of flights in there. You can fly any flight that the MD-88 has the range to fly - even the historic flights. As long as they are flown in the MD-88, it will count towards promotion to captain.

Welcome to DVA, I guess the flights that count towards captain in your program are MD-88/90/82!

Welcome aboard, Steven. In the Pilot Center, beside "Promotion to Captain" it should list the equipment types whose flights count towards the 10 leg requirement.
Cheers!

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. When I look in the pilot center it shows the flight that I made this morning. However, it also says that I have completed 0 of the 10 flights etc. needed for promotion to captain. I was wondering if there were certain flights required, or if as you have said all flights count?

Steven, Welcome aboard. All flights count as long as you are flying the aircraft that you are rated to fly. An easy way is to look in your logbook, you should see a large bold arrow pointing up. Place you mouse arrow over that arrow and it will say this flight counts toward your promotion to captain. good luck and happy flying.

Steven. The staff may not have officially "approved" your flight yet. I think that once they do your profile will update.
