Does the boxed version need the 737-700/600? I need to know as I dont have the 6/700 and just ordered the 738/9 boxed version.

Greg I don't want to upset you but I know of someone who did exactly the same and ended up having to spend another $ 30 (or whatever the boxed version of -600/700 is)

The 600 and 700 is necessary for the 800/900. No matter what.

I didn't know the difference in them. I ended up buying the 600/700 and then buying the 800/900. Really didn't matter to me having to pay the extra price if that is what I did, not knowing I could just buy the 800/900. However, if you ask me it is a great plane and I don't mind spending the money on such a well designed aircraft.

Greg, the person I know is not a DVA-person. To my understanding he had bought the 800/900 via PC Aviator. But I may be wrong here, especially after reading the post you just linked. I was actually also hoping that the boxed version would be a stand-alone product. Why don't you call PC Aviator and talk to them ?

Greg I have the boxed version of the PMDG 800/900 from Aerosoft and I can tell you for a fact that it doesn't require the 600/700. I was hesitant to get it at first because I wasn't sure of the same thing but I have been using it for a while now and have had no problems with its operation (other than getting used to the FMC/CDU, that is.) Enjoy.

I stand corrected. I think their site is a little misleading.

Greg, to rectify the issue, the person in question had the download version the one you get off the pmdg site. I'm actually glad the boxed version is a stand-alone one.

Chris Palmer has noted that FSX will work with FS9 payware birds... so I take it you're safe... we'll have to see what really happens though - those with the beta know for sure...

I didn't know the 800/900 was available in boxed. I have the boxed NG and the downloaded 8/9.. In that case, you do need the original NG but I guess the boxed version has it all.
I read on their site that they will have a payware fix for FSX. Hope it's not too much. Of course I'll pay for it anyway... lol
