At first when i begin the flight everything is running normally and working properly. 45 minutes into the flight, out of nowhere, the sound cuts off. For some reason, i cant hear anything but the sounds of the lds767 ENGINES and the fspax crew announcements. I cant hear the lds767 or fspax co-pilot. I cant hear when i lower or raise the flaps. Nothing but engines...not even air conditioning. I minimize fs2004 and i cant hear anything on the computer! I open up windows media player and cant hear anything. I try to change the volume and, when i set the volume on the computer to really high i can hear the speakers getting louder (as in that sound of air) but no sound comes through. Not even that bell that sounds when u set the volume. Nothing but lds767 engine sounds and fspax crew announcements. I did multiple scans with ewido anti-spyware and nothing found. This problem started yesterday and i had to cancel my flight cause of it and now its happening again but i decided to take the longhaul with it. Does anyone what is going on or how i can fix it? BTW: i dont think this has anything to do with it but I have a SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit.

Andy,
I've read you post several times and to be honest, I'm stumped. With that in iond, it sounds like something is either not releasing resources or some thing is in conflict. Do you have any thing else running? Fo what it's worth, here is what I reccomend.
1. Do a cold restart of your PC.
2. Run only FS9. Do not start anything but FS9 after the restart - no FSpax, ACARS, Active sky, mail, etc.
3. Attempt a flight in the LDS. If the problem continues remove FSPAX and remove and reinstall the LDS.
4. Attempt another flight. If the problem goes away, load FSPAX and attempt another flight.
Continue trying various combinations. The goal is to ID what is causing the problem.
If all else fails, remove FS and any addons and reload. Remember to restart after removal. This is the only way to make sure no longer used drivers are cleared from memory.
Another thought. Have you or 'micoshaft' made any updates to your PC recently? If so, the problem could lay there and that would drive a reload of the sim.
I know these are somewhat random thoughts but maybe something will help.
Good luck

The first thing I would do is go Start->Run->dxdiag an compare the driver version installed with the latest version available from the SB website. If it's outdated, update it.

How big is you HD and how much RAM is in your box? Is there heavy harddive activity? If both are on the smaller side, there is a chance your swap file is being corrupted. The swap file is used a"virtual memory" and if this is full with no possibility of expansion, this could cause issues. Whether they are your issues, I'm not sure.

Hi Rob. I recently cleared out a lot of space so now i have 37% free space which is more than enough...
GOD! This problem just WONT go away! I tried everything! And its very frustrating. Yesterday, i took a flight and it worked perfect. Today i take another and the sound cuts off again! Could this be a virus? I scanned it with ewido, norton, pest patrol, and mcfree and it didnt do anything! Do i really have to do an entire reinstall??

Andy,
I doubt this is a virus. It seems like a drivers issue. Do you get a frame rate drop or any other perfomenace hits when this occurs? I would recommend reinstalling the 767 and FSpax and check for improvement. If it does not help, you may well have to reinstall FS and the add ons.
btw, did you do a disk cleanup and defrag after you opened space on the HD?
Good luck.

Rob, its not just the LDS767 and it does it with or without FSpax. Recently i started flying the PMDG 737 and it does the same exact thing. Exactly like LDS767 after the sound cuts off the only thing i hear is the fan in the PMDG and some other minor sounds. No engine and no other computer sound whatsoever. Gotta restart if i want to get it back. When i play BF2 however, the sound works fine. Think deleting the fs9.cfg will fix it? I really dont know what to do and i would appreciate ANY help at all.

Andy,
I don't know if you can simply delete the cfg file. Itg may be necessary to run FS and I do not know if it will regenerate at startup. If you do delete it, save smoe place so you can restore it. Have you tried it with one of the standard FS aircraft? If a stack airplane works, then I would remove all add ons and reload them one at a time. I have agut felling you are destined for a full reload.
