Well chaps, I did it. Passed my 767 exam and checkride! Which is great cos now I can use my beloved levelD in anger! But I just wanted to canvas you chaps for opinions... Do I stay as a skipper of the 757, with a 767 rating, or do I make the jump and switch to the 767 programme?. Also, If I do make the move, and I log enough right hand seat flights in the 763, do I have to take a skippers exam and checkride in that too, or does/will experience in th left seat of the 752 count? Obviously , I don't really want to give up a stripe, but the 763 is just so much more versatile, and the level D is a much better simulation of its real world equivalent than my PSS 752 is. Or then again, I can stay with the 752 programme, but fly both, and when the Level D 752 comes out, I got the best of both worlds!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

1. Don't use any aircraft, especially the beloved one, in anger.
2. If you prefer longer routes, choose 767.
3. If you prefer shorter routes, choose 757.

Dont get hung up on your active program. Sure complete the 10 flights and become a captain if interested. But there is so much more then just just flying that program.
Take a while to figure out what you really enjoy flying and then make your move.

I'm not biased but I say go with the 767 program. You've already passed the checkride and F/O exam so it's just 1 click to move you over.

Since my birthday is Jun 7 1957, I would choose the 767 ..7th day of the 6th month of the 7th year of the decade
I always try to be scientific in my decision making (ahem)

Chris you are biased....come on. That's like saying I'm not biased about my beloved 757. I hope i wasn't too late to put my input in before you switched andrew. You can stay with both, but why not stay with the biggest and best program around. It really comes down to what airframe you enjoy more or what to be associated with. I like the 767 and 777s, and fly them about as much as the 757.

I like to fly what looks the most handsome (IE, MD-11)! If I had to choose between the 757 and 767, I'd definitely go with the 757 because it's a lot more handsome.
I just like the 757 because of its short-field performance too. You can get into very tight places with a 757.

I agree with the performance of the 757, but it all depends on the length of routes u want to fly
