I was mooching round flighsim.com today. I found a re-paint for the PMDG 747-400 in delta colours? Do Delta FLY the 744? Did they ever?

Ah...I see...Well thats what I thought, otherwise there'd be 744 flights in the flight database. Pity. Got a shiny new PMDG just itchin to haul some pax. Maybe when I'm good enough I can fly her for our sister airline, Ar France Virtuel?

Andrew, if you have the 747-400 rating, search the DVA schedule for Air France or Korean Air codeshares and use it there. Since AF and Korean Air fly the 744 in real life, there should be no problem. I'm not 100% sure that it's allowed to use the 744 on a Delta route without prior approval from senior management--I *think* it is, but don't trust my word on it, verify first.
Our rule is generally "if you're rated and the plane can safely make the trip, you can fly it on a route even if the route uses a different type." But I would get verification regarding a plane type that the airline you're flying for doesn't use in the real world (like a 757 on an AF codeshare or a 744 for Delta).

Hey, DAL flew some really odd routes when they had the 741, back before they really were flying international. ATL-MIA, ATL-DTW, not exactly the kind of routes you'd expect a huge bird with that range to be flying.
