Hi guys and gals. I am in the market for a new PC. I currently have a Dell Pentium 4, 2.66Ghz processor, 512M Ram and a Nvidia 64Mhz video card.
I think I have settled on a new Pentium 4, 3.0 Ghz processor, 2Ghz RAM and a new video card. I am trying to decide on a 256Mhz ATI Radeon X1300 Pro or a 256 Mhz NVidia GEForce video card.
First of all, which video card would you all recommend? Secondly, do the new specs sound good to everyone? Thanks.

you like dells greg do what i did i bought a dell XPS 410 on the internet for 1,168 with taxes applied and free ship and here are the specs: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6400 (2.13GHz,1066FSB) with 2MB cache, 1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 19 in (19 in viewable) E196FP Flat Panel Display, ATI Radeon X1300 Pro 256MB DVIVGA, TV-out, 250GB SATA II Hard Drive (7200RPM), Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005,English for Dimension XPS 600, 48X Combo and 16X DVD+/-RW, Windows Vista Capable, and of course it comes with a buncha more stuff but i just showed u like performance and stuff i customized it so u should customize it to be even better, or you could try what my cousin did right after i bought mine he got worked up about it and since he had no money he just applied for Dell Preferred Account and he got an even better system and he pays like 60 bucks a month for that monster, anyways those are just my opinions
Cheers! WGV

OK, a question for you computer junkies here. Is the dual core 1.86 GHZ computer faster than the old Pentium 4 3.0 GHz computer? I had heard that if you don't have software built for the dual core (and FS9 is not), then it is not faster, since it can only utilize one of the cores. Is this true, and which computer would be better to use for FS9? I have too many payware planes and too much addon scenery to go FSX.
