When I try and take off, my CRJ-200 goes off the runway and then starts to barely climb. I decreased the fuel payload, so the plane has not been overweighted. I try from the main runway at Seattle-Tacoma INTL. This is the new version (downloaded three days ago)

I know the first to issues to look at in this situation are Paylod, Fuel and/or if your aircraft is trimmed correctly. Another factor is to take a look at your weather setup.

You might want to look at your trim settings too.

Sam thing happened to me, ADJUST THE PAYLOAD. Make sure each wing don't exceed 2,233 lbs a piece and the center tank stays with range. As soon as I adjusted the payload and properly managed my fuel to base being 5204 lbs with a burn factor of 4.8, everything went smooth. Trust me
Refer to my headaches in previous posts

first adjust the payload make sure the wing tanks are on equal amount of fuel and remember that unless you get your wing tanks full you can not fuel your center tank, then once u are on the main runway set up the N1 of your engines to 60% then release brakes this will give you control on the first 60 to 70 knots if you go off the runway use reverse thrust and brakes slowly so you dont go off, now if you reach the 70 without any trouble increase N1 up to 90% no more and keep control with rudder not alerions because at this speed you might hit one of the wings if all goes good rotate at about 120 or 130 depends of the fuel and payload remember that flaps should be at 8 or 20 degrees no more another thing to check is the settings on your joystick hope this works for you and if not give me a shout

Are you using a CH Products Yoke? If so check your stabilizer trim and roll it all the way down. Now you can pull back all the way and get that bird in the air.

I had that problem to with a CRJ700 taking off from Boston. I went right into the water. That was on VATSIM and the atc I guess thought I was in the air. Anyway, I didn't know you should set flaps 20. That is what I did wrong. I set them to 8 by accident.
Thanx

Guys are you sure that you should set flaps 20 for T/O? That doesnt seem very reasonable...real world wise i mean.

Flaps 20 for shorter fields or contaminated surfaces, flaps 8 when runway length or conditions aren't a consideration. I would generally use 8 out of ATL and trim in the neighborhood of 7.2-5 (in the Wilco/FeelThere CRJ).

With the fleet CRJ the issues are weight and trim. Four clicks on the trim button won't be enough. Hold the trim button down until the tab has moved to about the 3rd bar from the bottom. Also you will have to adjust the fuel because with 100% and the default payload the plane is pretty overweight.

hey everyone no 20 degree flaps needed in fact you can take off on the CRJ200/700 even without flaps as long as you have enough runway available the normal is 8 degree and 20 when is a short runway and full throttle and is on the check list for take off and trim it is needed otherwise you will barely climb.
