I posted something similar before about this but I was wondering--I just had to abort a flight as I was on approach into Boston. Lately if there are more than 2 or 3 planes at an airport my system gets so bogged down i was getting 2 FPS? It got to the point I just canceled FS and shut it down as it was stuttering all over the place to the point I couldn't even tune my radios or anything--basically not worth it! The last response someone gave me was to adjust my settings as flying online pulls alot of resources--I did that and nothing changed. Is there any other reason this happens I have a 2.8 gig processor 1500mb RAM and a GEforce 6600 graphics card-I feel the Frame rates I am getting are to the point It's not worth flying online which I love to do-any help yould be great as to why this only happens when more than several planes are at the airport I am leaving/arriving
Thanks

If your using SB3........good luck. In my opinion there is something wrong with the SB3 code. Joel (SB3 developer) has touched upon this subject a few months ago in the SB3 forum. He also said he thinks he found/fixed the problem. But I doubt it. Something isn't quite right with SB3. Try FSInn......great program.....no problems

IVAO isn't much better. Both tax a system pretty hard if it's not the latest and greatest *and* you expect to see at least a little scenery.
I've suspended my on-line flying temporarily until I can upgrade my processor. It's impossible to make an approach at two frames per second.

I am using FSInn and turned my settings to medium. I dont want to turn them down anymore than that otherwise I'll juust have to fly online into desolate airports--not much fun though. I am just trying to understand why it is happeneing all of a sudden??? I guess there isn't much I can do at this point is what it sounds like

I had the same problem. I defragmented my system, and compressed my files, and I now get around 14-16FPS even at the busiest airports during rush hour. I dont know if it will work for y'all, but it is worth a try.

I can tell you what worked for me. Turn off all labels for other aircraft in traffic settings. That clears up the slow frame rate when there are other planes around. This is a tip I got from Tom AFR002. He says that the program creates a list of all of the aircraft there and constantly cycles through the list very fast updating. This basically puts your CPU spinlock causing it to go into 100% utilization. Last night in the KEWR event I started noticing poor frame rates. I went to traffic settings and turned off labels and the problem instantly went away.
Try it, it was magic for me!!

I think that it's just part of flying online... As unfortunate as it is, multiplayer aircraft take up resources.
I've got my labels turned off and still was getting 1.8 - 3.5 FPS on the ground at SLC during DVALive last week (extreme case, I know!). Though, T think that you can also adjust your squawkbox Multiplayer position update rate to hopefully get some of those FPS back. Look under options in SB3.

Erik,
If you are using FSINN look at the upper left in the control panel for three symbols in green that look like three computers.Click on them and they will turn red and presto the planes will be removed from sight and your frame rates will go up.Once you land click again and they will return.
Also I reduce the A1 plane traffic to 20%.which is a major help.Your system should be fine for FS9.If you still have a problem. it could be your other settings in the options display area.

Thanks all for thr replys--I will try to turn off labels first and then try what you mentioned Bob and hopefully that will work--it is just so frusterating when you have flown for 2 hours and the final 10 minutes everything goes so slow and you end up with a botched landing!!!!
