I have been running FS2004 since it came out and never had this issue until I began running ACARS. Occationally while at the gate after pushback I cannot turn the aircraft to the right, not even with just engine 1. Yesterday during a flight at cruise altitude I noticed the aircraft was listing to port, when I landed is was as though I was crabbing for a crosswind but the crab could not be eliminated. When I have experienced this problem at the gate if I switch to a simple flight model like a 182 then switch back to the jetliner I can once again steer the front wheel to the right. I'm running a 3.4 Ghz Dell precision machine with half a gig of memory. Any ideas?

It's possible that your throttles were only controlling one engine. You should look at the engine gauges the next time this happens. You might have landed on one engine...good job. Switching to a single engine plane and back to your jet may sync up your throttles again. Another way is to hit these keys in rapid succession "E", "1", "2" ("3", etc for as many engines as you have on your plane) to get left and right engines sync'd up to your throttle. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your comments Jim, but this was not the case, that was the first thing I checked.

Ok, In that case, have you tried a "Controls free and clear check"? At the gate, use SHIFT+S to go to the spot plane view and then press the "5" key on your keypad. This should be looking down from the top of your plane. Move your joystick/yoke from side to side and see if the ailerons move on the wings. Then pull back and push your joystick/yoke and see if the elevator moves up and down. Now twist your joystick or push your pedals or use the keypad (with numlock off) "0" and ENTER to move your rudder from side to side. If anything doesn't work right, check your assignments for the joystick/yoke/pedals and fix it. If all works as it should, climb back into the cockpit ("S") and see if you have right directional braking accidently on to prevent you from turning left. If this doesn't help, take a look at the rudder trim for the aircraft you are flying to see that it is centered. If you are flying payware, you might try the forums on the payware site to see if anyone else has solved your problem. If you believe that the problem is caused by ACARS, you might change the version of ACARS (v2.0 or v1) you are using to see if the problem goes away. Maybe we'll get lucky with one of these suggestions.

Try resetting your key assignments back to default. Maybe something happened there.

Verify that your joystick is properly calibrated in Windows as well.

I had done the things you all have suggested and still, no joy. I beleive it's a memory issue and I'm gonna double memory as soon as I figure out what kind I have. Last evening I was about to fly and the steering was perfect, the very instant I keyed up to speak with ATC I could no longer steer to the right.

The key I am using for transmit has no assignment within FS. Last evening I made a short flight with a simple aircraft, a 172 and did not have ACARS or Server info running. Everything was fine when I took off, but 1.5 hrs later when I landed I had no right steering. I have a newer version of of Squawkbox and fsuipc than I did a few weeks back when this problem started. I think I'll reload these programs and if that does not fix it, maybe I'll go back to an earlier version and see what happens. Thanks for all the suggestions!
