...taking money from their customers.
As a result of my problem, I called up M$ today and it is my CD. Since it's passed the 90 day limit, I have to repurchase it. The cost was 29.12. So please, make sure your disk are kept properly and maybe you won't have to give money to them for another copy, in which you already paid much for the initial one. Especially near $70.
Oh well, a life lesson...atleast for me.

I had no idea that win98 wasen't compatible with any processor over 1.5gig. I HAD winXP and it did the job for my sys. that Is 40 gig @ 7200rpm. I also diden't take care of the disk. I now wish I did because I had to REINSTALL 98. nothing good came from that. I have had nothing but trouble since. It will cost me a mear fortune to get an XP disk again. My sympathy!!!

Actually if you still have your XP key, you might just be able to order a CD without a license. That would be much cheaper.

to obtain a replacement disc call the Microsoft Order Desk at (800) 360-7561 and request a replacement for your damaged disc.
Of course it still might be $50, but its cheaper than the full price of XP.

Typical Microsoft for you. But just think of all the great things your money is buying Bill Gates.

Actually,
If it's past 90 days since you purchased it, they can do nothing. That's where I called them. I talked with a few representatives. The 4th CD is damaged but it had worked before when I first got it back in the month it was releases.

Chanse,
I was responding about the XP CD for Dennis. OS Cds can be replaced without buying a new license after !!30!! days. And hopefully it would be cheaper since its 1 cd compared to 4. Atleast the games get 90 days.
