Do we have a document anywhere that shows an outline of the private pilot course? I am looking for subjects taught, as well as time requirements.
Thanks.

Andy,
We teach a great deal in the academy but basically the PPL course is VFR flying (Visual Flight Rules) with NO autopilot. All aircraft will be hand flown and you will learn checklists, aircraft preflight, airport environment, ATC communications, basic flight maneuvers, basic navigation using NDB's and VOR's, traffic pattern flying, landings, takeoffs, cross country flights both offline and online using our ACARS software, flight planning, and more. Check out the private pilot manual (PPL) in the Documents library to get a better understanding of all we offer in the 1st of many flight courses we are implementing to help DVA pilots sharpen their flying skills.
Oh, I almost forgot...It's also a lot of fun flying with an instructor....

Thanks guys. Jim, I will look up that document. I am fairly accomplished in most of what it is, but it never hurts. I do a good amount of VFR flying, but there are always things you can learn from others.
EDIT: Jim, could not find any document directly pertaining to the PPL course. Might it be somewhere else, or under another title?

Also, the commercial course is going to be available in about 2 weeks. You can only sign up for the commercial course if you have completed the PPL course.
In the commercial we take the gloves off and get down to serious business. half taught in the EMB-120 and half taught in the CRJ - when you get done with that course the only thing you'll be lacking is IFR approaches and international flying...
