I am seriously looking at purchasing the CH Yoke and Rudders, but I have to admit that I am somewhat intimidated by reading the posts telling of configuration issues. Is it possible to arrange with someone to help with the installation and configuration of these items when I do purchase them. I'll probably purchase one piece at a time so I have only one set issues to solve at atime.

Dan, I just got the Yoke, going for the peddles later this spring, Terry has helped me out getting this set up, and it seems to work decently now :), actually if you are using FSUIPC the registered version, it makes things a snap, Unless you are like certain people, Terry, Oops did i mention terry again

The yoke and pedals were very straight forward and presented very minor set up issues. The only problem I had was when I installed the pedals and that was related to the rudders being assigned to another controller at the same time. Once I deleted that, no issues. What did cause issues for me was when I brough the Throttle Quadrant into the mix. But that was actually related to the payware aircraft I use. Take the plunge! You won't regret it.

Dan,
My problems were pesky and hard to identify the source. I also didn't know the interconnectedness of FS9, Windows and FSUIPC, which lead to trial and mostly errors. Adam worked with me Monday night to identify the problems. My control system is working like a charm. I am able to hand fly the EMB-120 and B738 in patterns with good control, smooth turns and nice transitions.
Buy them and I will help you with the installation, which I suggest we do from the outset to avoid frustrations. You may have read my advice to Chris Williams that the best price is PCNation.com
Tony,
My problems were two-fold. One was legacy joystick settings in the FS9.cfg file. Second was FS9 control sensitivity. In the end I removed all the FSUIPC controls and used CH Products' control manager to setup and calibrate the devices. I encountered noise issues with toe brake activation while taxing and take off roll, which of course activates RTO feature of the more sophisticated panels.

Daniel,
Speaking from my own experience recently (2 weeks ago) I purchased the CH Products Yoke and Rudder Pedals combination. Despite all the posts regarding configuration settings and getting these components connected and up and running it is very straight forward. Plug both the yoke and rudder pedals into an available USB port and for the most part that's it. The default settings in FS9/FSX worked well for me, and I only had to make some minor adjustments in the controller assignments.
Currently, I am not using FSUIPC to calibrate and configure both devices but seriously am considering going that way. I would like to add a PTT (Push To Talk) button for online flying and FSUIPC make it very easy.
By the way as far as good deal goes I paid $201.11 for both and pcnation.com with free 3 day shipping.

I just plug mine in and they work - I re-assign the "w" key to one of the buttons on the yoke too. Most Flight Academy students that go out and purchase the yoke and pedals say something to the effect of "why did I not do this a long time ago?"

For those of you that use the throttle quadrant...any problems setting these up? I have the yoke and pedals and had no problem setting these up and they worked perfectly out of the box. I am a little gun shy about the quadrant but think it would be a great help in flying.
