I just completed my first flight in the PMDG 747 today (last night too) lol (Frankfurt-San Fran)...and everything went fine with a landing I couldn't believe on my first try...anywho...the FMC did not calculate my fuel correctly as the suggested landing fuel in the FMC was 7.1 but I landed with like 3.0 something...any idea why this could be....did I do something wrong? thanks for the help...now I am off to re-read the manuals so I can start flying this baby on a regular basis.

Congratulations on your first flight in the big bird!! That route was made for the 747, and a good landing just rounds it off
The deal with the FMC, what you had was a fuel disagree - you used more fuel than the FMC predicted. As Isi said, this can be as a result of headwinds along the route - you need to enter your route, then go to LEGS then RTE DATA and fill in the enroute windspeeds so that the FMC can make a more accurate prediction. The other reason could be because your gross weight was wrong, i.e. you entered an inaccurate ZFW which again alters fuel burn. Just check that your weights are correct as well, but it's most likely a wind issue, as pointed out by Isi above.
The only other thing is that 7.1 tons is not enough fuel remaining - at AFVA, we use approx 12 tons to be left on landing. Just make sure you've got a little more than this and you'll be fine. Wouldn't want a flame out now
Air France and KLM have some great 744 flights for you to try out, and I believe you DVA guys can also fly the KAL codeshares on the long Polar routes. At AFV we have the Qantas codeshares as well, so you've got plenty of routes to have a go with. Good luck with the beast!!

He bought it from PMDG, installed it for Flight Simulator, and then selected it in the aircraft options for Flight Sim lol.
