I had to reinstall FS9 due to some bizarre problems -- it would freeze whenever I tried to go to the "select a flight" menu. I tried system restore, didn't work. Prior to that, I had been using CH Yoke and Pedals for about 6 months with no problems whatsoever. I downloaded CH Products mapping program and used that to program the yoke/pedals. It was a pain, but it worked.
Now, however, I cannot figure out how to reconfigure the yoke/pedals. I've tried multiple times to assign the correct axis (axes?) but am at a stalemate. Here are my 2 key issues:
1) Brakes remain "on". This is despite having them set to "reverse." I have no other conflicting joysticks. I have repeatedly set "reverse", shut down FS9, then restarted fs-9 only to see "reverse" unchecked. When I finally succeeded in having "reverse" stay saved, the brakes still stay "on."
2) The sliding lever I assigned to engine "mixture" will not work. The CH Products program wants to assign it as "Y rotation". FS-9 sets it as "Y axis". There seems to be no way to reconcile this problem.
I am stumped. Has anyone figured out a way to methodically configure the yoke/pedals using the CH Products software? It seems to involve endless trial/error/resets... Whenever I change something using the CH Products menu, FS-9 reassigns the same command to some other key stroke/command.
HELP!!!!

OK. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the CH software and drivers for the yoke and pedals. No improvement.
Then I realized I hadn't actually deleted the CH software folder -- i re-uninstalled the software, yoke, pedals, drivers, deleted the folder, and reinstalled the software. No improvement.
THEN I remembered something about "sensitivities..." and "null zones."
Now for some bizarre reason, FS insisted on setting my mixture sensitivity at zero -- so of course no matter how much I slid the mixture lever, nothing would register. problem solved.
As for the brakes, I had to set the null zone to zero.
I have no idea what the REAL sensitivity and null zone settings should be for realistic flight!
