Hey all. I'm 757 rated as you can see and am interested in doing a LAX-HNL run, is this possible? I know it is in it's range but would there be any restrictions as far as ETOPS? I know NW does it (but with a 753). I want to fly under a Delta flight number and use a regular Delta 752.

Sure go ahead. COA uses some of their 752's on hops across the Atlantic.

Hi Andrew,
It is within the aircraft's capabilities and several airlines use 757s to Hawaii due to having ETOPS rated 757 aircraft in their fleet. As it stands at the moment I don't believe Delta have any ETOPS rated 757s in their fleet. This will change soon though with the acquisition of 10 ex-TWA aircraft that will be ETOPS rated and are rumoured to operate some flights to Hawaii as well as possible transAtlantic flights. For the purposes of DVA, however, you're quite entitled to go ahead and fly any Delta route with any aircraft you're rated for and that's capable of flying your route. Enjoy

Oh Definitly Yes, LAX-HNL is only about 2000-2200 miles. And we have 757's flying BOS-SFO which I think is 2200-2300.
Delta's plan once it gets AA's 757 ETOPS planes it is going to put ONLY 757 on all Hawaii routes with the exception of the ATL-HNL route which will remain a 764 apperently.
