I tried downloading and installing the squawkbox from our fleet library, but it says it it appears that FS2002 2004 isn't installed in your system. How can I fix this?

Try the Installer Registry fixer from the Fleet Library. Either your registry is messed up, or you've moved FS9.
Cheers!

Andrew: Liking those meds huh?
I am assuming you have a short cut on your desktop for FS9.....right? If you do, right click on that shortcut and select the 'shortcut' tab. You'll see below the something that says, Target: C:\Program Files\Microsoft .....etc, etc ...copy & paste what it says here so we can see it.
Something else...I just tried installing SB3...it doesn't ask you where FS9 is, only what directory to install it to. Where are you seeing this error?

Michael, this is what I found in target: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Micorsoft Flight Simulator 2004 A\fs9.exe"
I'm seeing the error after I agree to the license agreement and check the box that i only want to use SB3 and FS9 on one only.

do you have FSX installed, because I also have FSX installed and I too get this message when trying to install other programs. I believe the problem comes about when the potential installation of the program, see's two flight-sim folders within "microsoft games" within the "programs" menu.

The directory you posted above was: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Micorsoft Flight Simulator 2004 A\fs9.exe ..... couple things, did you highlight that then copy & paste? I ask because first, Microsoft is spelled wrong, second FS9.EXE is in directory ' Micorsoft Flight Simulator 2004 A ' ....what is with the 'A' at the end. Did you change some directory names? or is what I am talking about simply spelling errors?
Assuming these are spelling errors then Luke is more than likely correct, you have a registry problem. Thus, you'll need to uninstall FS9 then reinstall it.

Yes I did highlight and copy and paste. I may have changed the directory namre lon ago, Micorsoft Flight Simulator 2004 A (centuray of flight) should be there. I have no idea how Microsoft is spelled wrong but i may have somhow changed the name and misspelled it. I can't reinstall because my friend lost my # 1-3 cd's It is a great pice of luck he didn't lose my # 4 cd. Don't remebr why I changed the name, but Edit voice pack used to work under the current name, but out of the blue, it also stopped working, saying it can't find FS9.

Changing the names of the directory is never a good idea, it causes problems. The funky directory names is probably your issue, try correcting it....I do not remember the exact default directory for FS9, maybe someone can post it here. Once you know what the default is, change your directory's to match it. This may solve your problem .... however, any software/addons you installed under the weird names may then stop working.
Good luck!
