Any suggestions why FS9 is shutting down after about 30 minutes? No errors, just closes completely. I log back in and can fly all day after that.
2.9GHZ 1Gig Ram NVidia 7300 LE graphics card.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled FS9. I have run defrag and all security software weekly.
Using Active Sky, Ultimate Terrain USA, DVA acars.
Thanks

There are 10000000000s of reasons a CTD occurs. Theres really little you can do for that situation. Try getting new graphics card drivers to start.

Make sure no dust is building up in your case, and that all fans are running properly. Keep the vents clear to ensure a good supply of cool air into the case.

If it were a heat issue, I would think more than a CTD would occur. I am assuming of course that the OS is still running. Although tedious, I would look at your addons. Try flying with just FS9 running and use a default aircraft. Then, one by one, fire up an addon and see what happens. Don't forget to take notes along the way. Unfortunately, this could take several days to troubleshoot. One other thing, like most programs, FS9 leaves some files untouched after an uninstall, which means the original files may still be used after the reinstall. After an uninstall, manually browse your hard drive and delete any FS9 files/folders that may still exist. One that comes to mind is the FS9.cfg file. It is a hidden file that resides in your OS profile directory.

Thanks Norm, I have manually deleted all fs9 files after uninstall. I have cleaned my case, which is less than 1 yr. old, and have a fan in front of the case when flying. I have ONLY DVA aircraft installed other than Ultimate Terrain and Active Sky.
I still have the problem.

Ok, narrowed it down to a shut-down every hour.
