All right so my Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 is doing even worse than when I asked for help here about a week ago. It's now impossible to fly with it, as the rudder is so out of control I can't even takeoff without steering out of the runway. Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, cleaned it up, etc, nothing worked. It did its job perfectly for about 5 years, so thanks Microsoft for the great piece of hardware.
Fortunately I've been keeping an 7-years-old Sidewinder (X and Y axis only, LOL!!), that should do for the moment.
But I'd love to have a new joystick. I'd like to hear some opinions from you guys as to what is the best joystick for the buck (I don't think I can pay more than 50 bucks for it), especially for FS, I don't play almost anything else.
I'm not interested in CH Yokes and Pedals as I can't afford them.
I appreciate your help!

I and and a few others here have this joystick and I have to say don't get it. There is absolutly nothing wrong with the stick itself, the servos are better then average, and it has lasted quite a while. The problem lies in the fact that when you make no motion or button clicks for about 2 minutes, the joystick will hibernate and you need to click a button to wake it up. That would not be so bad, but the throttles will go to full throttle in the Sim when it Hibernates. This can be very annoying.
I would have to recommend the CH Yoke and Rudder pedels if you have the room for them.

this is the one I have now and it works like a charm! there are plenty of buttons to program and you can have three different modes!
hope this helps!

Does the hibernating thing happen with all Logitech devices?
It really sucks that some joysticks I've seen are great, like the Saitek X52 or the Cyborg... but I'm left-handed!!!

I used the Logitech 3D Pro for 4 years and very pleased with it. I do like the yoke much better but reccommend 3D Pro as sticks go.

Dave not all Logitech joysticks do that. I have an Extreme 3D Pro and it doesn't have that problem.

I have the Aviator and it's a good joystick for the price. The stick itself feels a little cheap but the base is solid, and the amount of buttons and the dual throttle make up for it. I'm saving up for a X52 Pro though.

I have to agree with Ron about the yoke and pedals. That would be my recommendation also if your budget allows it...
