hello all
just wondering if anyone can give me a hand? My VSI on the 727 does not show up, can anyone tell me how to get it to work on my panel?

In the climb-out it doesn't move at all?
Check the aircraft config file and see what the VVI is set at in feet. I changed mine to 1800' for initial climb or descent, but is adjustable from there.
If it's not the config file I don't know what it could be. Are you having any other instrumentation problems?

Upon re-reading it, I think I may have mis-understood your question.
You mean it doesn't *appear* on the panel? Or it doesn't show a climb?

Use the knob on the right of the altitude window to increase or decrease the altitude amount. 700' before reaching the set altitude the indicator lamp will light.
I don't have a clue what is wrong with your VVI. You might want to check in Aircraft/FSFSConv/PANELJET727LP/panel.config and see if it's there. Someone more computer savy than I should be able to help you.

You should be climbing at 1800fpm at 250 until ten thousand (set the speed bug for 255 indicated), upon reaching ten thousand increase the speed bug to 300 and let it accelerate to 290. At this point set your climb to 2500fpm@290 until FL250 and decrease your climb to 2000fpm to maintain a 290kt climb speed. At 270-280 decrease climb to 1500fpm, and approaching FL330 (for example) decrease to 1000-1200fpm until reaching cruise altitude. It takes 17-18 minutes @290KIAS to climb straight up to FL330 using this schedule without a controller.
It's a good way to figure your climb fuel burn too for fuel planning.
This schedule should pretty well maintain 290 +/- 5 kts indicated in the climb unless you're speed restricted for spacing. You may have to make adjustments based on weight. See the "Rules of Thumb for the B722" Post in the Ops Forum for the formula for cruise climb.
