See a recent post by Luke Kolin for what was in his most recent build. An 800 watt PSU is likely overkill unless you're running more than one graphics card (500-600). I've built 3 computers this summer (though mine is suddenly not behaving. Might be a post on this later if it doesn't get resolved in a day or so) and the formula is pretty easy:
1) Motherboard
2) CPU
3) RAM (2 gb of PC6400 is probably sufficent, maybe more)
4) GPU
5) Drives
You have 1, but I don't know anything about that board. Do you know what chipset it has (northbridge / southbridge)? I'm assuming its an intel LGA775 board. Your Graphics card is probably worth putting some money into but not too high a priority with FS. How much VRAM does it have?
As for processor being overkill, I don't believe that's possible with FSX. Great frames with addons like LDS are hard to come by on the best machine running at Ultra. Now before you get to overkill, there is a question of what you're getting for that much more in price. Consider that 3 ghz dual conroes are about $300 on new egg now, you wonder if the quad is really worth $500 more. What is your budget with regards to this?
A few places to checkout
1) Read the AVSIM hardware forum. There are some guys in there who really know their stuff and they've done a lot of performance testing / tweaking with different rigs
2) www.tomshardware.com - There's a great article on graphics cards in each price range
Hope that helps!

Sounds like you might need a minimum 500 gigabyte hard drive if not more, minimum 2 gigabytes DDR2 RAM, any standard CD/DVD drive should work, and you might want to add on a good soundcard, the price will depend on how much you care about the audio. The machine you intend to build, should be able to fandle fsx no prob. I built one similarly, but with weaker processor and i get great framerates wherever, whenever. If you need help with anything, let me know, and good luck.
