I have a new system, came with XP 64 bit and also just received FSX. After installing FSX and attempting to run it, it says cannot run because I have an incompatible version of Directx. I checked the version I have, 9, but cannot run FSX. I tried re-installing the Directx drivers (3 times) and reinstalling FSX. Anyone else have this problem? Will I need to go back to XP 32 bit to run FSX?

Bryan,
I am running 64bit XP with both FS9 and FSX installed without problem (knock on wood). Currently running DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) I have not had any major software problems to speak of, however drivers for older hardware are another story all together. Thank heavens CH products have drivers for 64bit XP that work quite well.

Thanks Robert, I also have DirectX 9.0c installed and FSX just won't see it for some reason and refuses to load. My system is new, with a Q6600 processor. I,m on the verge of going back to 32 bit due to this and my antivirus (McAfee) doesn't support 64 bit.

You may have directx 9.0c, but it is probably an older version. There was one that came out in June of July of this year that you need to get. The Windows downloads are WAY confusing!
