Gavin, this is whats wrong, you are just requiring too much runway for 2 reasons. 1. you need to trim the plane all the way back until there is only about 3-2 bars below the trim mark(or about 3/4's of the way down) 2. make sure you don't take too much fuel, the crj-200 with full fuel is actually over weighed, you might have to not bring as much fuel, hope this helps man.

Try less fuel and more flaps then usual around 20% or more. And dont pull back on the yoke untill your close to the end of the runway. You shouldn't have a problem it worked for me when i flew it along time ago.

I just did a flight in the fleet CRJ and didn't even use half the runway. Trimmed out properly, with the correct fuel for the flight and using the correct flaps, then don't pull back until you hit your Vr speed. Easy, smooth takeoff and climbout.
(I am using FSX, however. Shouldn't make a difference but might.)

Just want to say that the key is to trim down and unload some of the fuel!! I had this same problem and went flying off the runway! I was so upset. J.T. said exactly what to do!
Good luck

Gavin...You might want to check out the Flight Academy. We will teach you how to fly the airplane from navigation to fuel planning and flight planning. It is a lot of fun and you will learn a great deal. If you have any questions drop me a note at dva2570@gmail.com

Andrew...You don't need to much. There are a few things you will need to download but nothing to drastic. The first lesson will involve setting everything up on your computer. Prior to that first lesson you will be sent an email with everything that needs to be done prior to that first lesson and then you are off and flying. I am sure y ou will enjoy the experience. Let me know if you have any quesitons at all just shoot me an email.
