I am always picking my flights and i was wondering if i could have a change and get some flight assignments. I think there are some pilots that have flight assignments but I'm not to sure how it works and how you get them. It is nice to have a mission sometimes instead of always trying to find flights to do. Thanx

Hi Josh, There are no assigned flights at DVA (other than those assigned as checkrides for advancement). It has been discussed in the past, and there is some interest in this type of operation. But a his point in ime, it is up you to pick your own flights...

Hi Josh
Take a look in the pilot center. there is a section for flight assighnments, as it say DVA does not have a formal bidding system for flights but you can have asignments created by the DVA staff, hope this helps.

I have done 78 flights now and I know how to pick my flights. I just thought that it would be nice if it was more like a real airline where the ops manager or cheif pilot tells you where to fly.

I'm looking forward to this feature as well, but I can understand how it's not easy to do logistically.

I think that not having flight assignments allows us more freedom. Right now I have very little time to fly but if I wanted to the way things are I can fly whatever flight I want. I like that better then having assigned flights.

Maybe there should be a vote on who would like to have flight assignments and who wouldn't. There could also be a of people who make up flight assignments for the pilots that want them. Maybe there is some computer program that can take DVA's data base of flight and just randomly hand out flight assignments. There are lots of way we can work around this. I bet there is a pilot out there who knows how to make programs like that.

Your chief pilot should be able to hook you up, since he's the closest thing we have to a 'supervisor' for the rank and file drivers.
