I did a Water Cooler search and couldn't find this topic already addressed, sorry if it has been. I'm having problems getting the fleet DC-6 to load. I'm running FS9 on Windows XP and everytime I enter the fuel/weather/flight plan and start the flight the screen goes blank and FS9 dumps. If if load any other aircraft, the scenery and terrain, etc. load fine and the flight starts--and, I can switch the aircraft once that is done to the DC-6 and the flight continues fine.
I've uninstalled the DC-6 and re-installed several times without any change. I've changed FSUIPC to 3.6.5 and back to 3.7.5 a couple of times and still have the same dump on starting the flight. Any ideas on what I need to change or what sequence of changes?
Thanks a lot,
Ben Nash

I have always had that problem. Choosing the DC-6 first and fs9 goes out the window. I can setup a flight, change to the DC-6 then save flight. Can come back later and select flight and opens right up.

Start with the default Cessna at Seattle and then switch.

Well, to do the DC-6 check ride, I've been setting up with a DC-3 at the start point, with flight plan, fuel, and weather; then, when that flight loads I switch the aircraft to the DC-6 without a problem. It just seems odd to have to do it that way every time you want to fly the DC-6? So far I've just been on practice runs and haven't had enough courage to even start the "training wheels" mode in ACARS yet.

I don't use ACARS to do fuel for the DC6, I always do the fuel manually. Never have problems that way.
