Hey guys,
I've got this really irritating problem... My PC freezes randomly. After that I have to pull the plug and let it "rest" for a couple of hours before being able to start it again, if I turn it on right after, it freezes at the point where you have to insert the password.
Can anyone please give me a link to a good spyware removal program? (Not spybot SD please)
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

I second XoftSpy.
But if your pc freezes, and then you have to wait a couple of hours to turn it on again, it doesn't sound like spyware, sounds more like a heat problem.
What are your specs bro?

Dave:
Pentium 4
3.2Ghz
1GB RAM
I'll try both things out. What do I do if it's a heat problem? Computer fixing isn't really my best field. Thanks Bryan, Steve and Dave
Regards.

If it's a heat problem, it could be the cpu or the power supply. How's the cpu fan? If the fan is bad, it could be causing your problem. Both are fairly easy to replace.

Take your case cover off and using compressed air blow all the dust out of your computer (Do this when it is off and unplugged of course).
Make sure you get in between all of the heat sink fins. After that keep the case cover off and power up your computer. You should see all of your fans running. Keep the cover off and run your computer for a while, if your freezing problem doesn't return then you should be good.

If you replace the CPU cooler don't forget to add thermal compound ... Artic Silver 5 works excellent.

Also make sure that CPU is not in "gallego" mode... maybe it's on 'tapas'
Espero que todo se solucione.

i'll have to agree that its proly a heating problem. i had a similar problem before and it was due to my cpu fan being broken. make sure that your cpu fan is plugged in, and is running. another reason might be that one of your ram modules is shot and you may have to replace it. this might take some time to diagnose, but be patient, in the end you will find your problem.

Thanks a lot guys, it was a heat problem. I don't have compressed air so I just fanned it for an hour and then blew a little. Then I turned it on peaked inside and the fan was stuck on something. Now I don't have audio... I think the heat fried the audio card or something...
LOL Charly!
Once again, thanks a lot guys.
Regards.
