Man thats pretty awsome, she was beautiful, all chromed up, I guess my pictures wernt to far off from right when the DC-3 I flew on FS2004 where all super chorme, good find. Thanks for sharing. I bet it must have been a crazy feeling to sit in the back of one of those when the tail lifted off the ground going down the runway, you would have had to feel that.

I've gotten all the modern jets except the 767 and 777. I'd like to look into the historic program though. What is the DC-6 check-ride like?

Also as a side note. Ship 41 gets rather dusty when sitting in the museum hanger. The last time I saw her earlier this year was there and the dust was pretty thick! But the clean her up pretty good and pull out the buffer and polish whenever she has to make a public appearance.

I guess you live in the Atlanta area to be able to see ship 41.We in the Seattle area have a DC-3 in the Boeing flight museum but can not get in it since it hangs from the ceiling.But they do have a Concord on display which you can get into plus the old presidents plane DC-6 Airforce One.
The DC-6 CR and exam has been passed by many on the first try.In the near future the DC-6 will be moved to Stage Three to put it into resch of more pilots..

Oh I like that, sounds good, a good starting poing for many- is the DC-3 that much more complicated then the DC-6 to be offered first in the programs?

Actually Chris I find the new DC-3 quite easy to fly since it is very up to date.When the new DC-3 manual and plane are released give it a try.

I got a few more stages to go before I think about the switch but believe me I have been flying the DC-3 here and there and love it, I cant say it enough, the DC-3 and the 727-200 there is just something about getting behind the controls of an aircraft with so much history and repor its a great feeling.
