Here is the deal, Im trying to build a decent system for under $500 (yeah i know its low but thats all i can afford) I need a decent PCI Express video card that wont break the bank. Don't worry about processor and mobo I got those on lock down. Links are appreciated.

Probably a GeForce 8600GTS would do. Not high-end, but good for the buck...
If you can afford a 8800, better.

First if someone could move this to the PC support forum that would be great, Next I was looking on newegg, and the cheapest 8800 was $450 with a $50 rebate, to much, I will look for a 8600GTS. Also what about the 8800 GTS is that any good?

I'd compare the benchmarks, but my understanding is that the 8800GTS is _significantly_ better than the 8600. With that said, you'll need to check whether you are CPU bound or GPU bound. It might be overkill on a slow CPU. What CPU are you planning on getting?
Cheers!

Yeah im in the process of building a computer now, its going to have the XPS 710 casing, whatever motherboard comes with the 710, 4g of ram, and whatever I can max out on the video card. Then ill probably just get like a 19 or 21 inch monitor at compusa or somewhere. I dont realy care about keyboard and speakers, just the inside stuff.

since flight sim is not gpu based, i would get a really nice cpu, like the E6600 or the AMD equivalent, and not bother much about the vid card. im running a fairly average system with a pentium D @3.2GHz, 3GB RAM, and a nVidia 8600GT SC. i run fs with most options turned up at around 25-30 fps on the ground, and over 50 in the air. the 8600GT SC is running for around $130 nowadays, so i think it would be a good choice for you since you dont have that much to spend. the 8600GT is even cheaper @ $120, so it can be an option if you know how to overclock.

for those not reading the post "Im trying to build a decent system for under $500".
I think it would be more accurate to say, I am trying to build a system for $500. I will gladly try and price something out for you, but you need to work with me on what you already have or what can be used to save $$$.
BTW, a quad core 6600 for 279.99 is not very cost effective when looking at spending $500 total for a system. It takes more than a processor and video card to build a rig.

hence why i said "like the E6600". i was trying to point out that a nice cpu is more important than a nice vid card when it comes to flight sim.
motherboard = 105
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3032387&CatId=2320
cpu = 135
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2912698
gpu = 130
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=015677&cid=999.243.390
memory = 90 - 30 mail in rebate
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=010870&cid=RAM.835
case and psu = 110
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2503496&CatId=1845
the total without the mail in rebates is 570 plus shipping. all you have to do is save a bit more money and you can get it. as far as my own experience, you wont be able to build any system with less than that much that can also run FS with decent performance. also i assumed you would have a hard drive already, if that isnt the case, then add $80 for a decent SATA drive. if you have a case and psu already then you can eliminate my option and make do with what you have.
PS tigerdirect also has a US site at www.tigerdirect.com
PPS newegg.com is also a great site to find good deals on computer hardware

Look here is what I have already, ive got
Mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131025 the mobo i have is smiliar not the exact same brand, but works with the quad core.
Case is an old gateway
Have ducted fan units, regular fan units and heat sinks that will all work with the setup
RAM 2 sticks of 2GB, came with the mobo
Got my two 160 GB hard drives
All I really need is a Processor, power supply and a PCI express graphics card, which both have to come at or below $500 dollars.
