I have not been able to get FS9 working with linux even though I haven't tried in a while since I have moved to FSX. Getting FS9 working under wine is a no go. If your system is powerful enough the best way is to use vmware or parallels to emulate windows under linux, but that takes system resources that you might not have. I wish all games and software would run under linux but that is not the reality. All of my systems run linux except for the one system in my house that is the most powerful, which is my gaming rig. For most of the applications out there, except for video editing, there is a program that is as good or better than it windows counterpart that is available for linux, but when it comes to games we are stuck with windows. I am at the stage now of having to upgrade to Vista so I can get the most out of my new quad core processor and my NVidia 8800 GTX video card. It is stupid that they make you buy vista to get DirectX 10 and take advantage of this card. I am not looking forward to messing with vista, but I had better do it now before I start seeing it on too many clients machines. Anyway, hope the thought about using vmware server or parallels helps.
