Forgive me if this has been posted before. I am tired of waiting for good payware aircraft for FSX so I was wondering if there are any issues with running FS9 and FSX on the same box. I want to take advantage of what is available for FS9. Will I run into issues with ACARS or VATSIM lash-up or my GoFlight gear?

No issues that I've ever run into. VATSIM may require different interfaces, since Squawkbox isn't FSX compatible and you'll be using FSInn (if you don't already for FS9). I haven't used the DVA ACARS yet, but I have used other versions with FSX with no problems at all.

I run both. The only issue I have had is the registry path settings getting confused. When it happens, it is easy to straighten out using FSPath_Utility availble for free from TweakFS here
https://www.tweakfs.com/store/
Go to the freeware tools section on the left.
As for ACARS, I use it with both. I installed two copies, each in its own directory - i.e ACASRFSX and ACARSFS9. One attached to FSX, the other attached to FS9. I have no issues this way.

I have run both on my rig. The only issue I ran into ONCE was acars not working sometimes.. but usually I had no problems.

No issues whatsoever - with any mismatch/ACARS/AS6 or any issues. They both run fine.

if you have a machine that will run FSX decently - you can pretty much be assured that you can max out the settings on FS9

My box runs FSX well; Core2 Quad, 4GB RAM, Nvidia w/512MB. I run FS9 on my laptop so I can fly when traveling for business and it runs well there. I'll get FS9 running and start looking for a good payware aircraft or two. Everyone loves what they are running and hates everything else so reviews are a little useless at times.
