I just bought a new computer and it runs so smooth, everything is perfect, but, when I got to change views, it stays on the panel, and the view freezes. I then have to go change the view through the view menu. Even if I turn the view left it does it. It will move the just the view will freeze. HELP!

If you're asking for PC Support, you should list your system specs, which software you're running (any pay ware addons, other utilities, etc), version of FS you're running... You know the basic information from which someone may derive whether or not you're beyond help.
In the mean time, don't switch views.

This has nothing to do with the computer though. This is something inside flight sim. Its fine. But when I got to change views, the sound even changes but it sticks to that panel. When I undock the panel or turn it off, it works just fine.

No, It works just fine in FSX, but I prefer FS9 because it flies smoother.

No, I understand. I know that the issue is flight sim. But it's ok, I got it figured out, it was a flight sim error on download, I re-installed it, and it works fine. I thank you very much though.

right off the bat - you defiantely need to buy a viddeo card - an integrated one is ok - but that is more than likely the root cause of your problems...also you could stand to get another GB of RAM
make sure you install the AMD X2 CPU driver:

There is no "external" video card...and yes - the one you have in the link would work - however with 256MB processing speed on the card - you may not see much marked improvement -= improvement - but not a ton. You can find a card with 1GB on it - that would help you and you w0ould prob not have any more issues...

Don't jump the gun. That video card you linked is AGP, make sure your board has an AGP slot, as opposed to PCI-e.

Well I got the Radeon HD 2600 pro with 512 MB a guess what.... No luck, so there is another 200 down the drain. Lets see, were up to 1000 dollars now. For a high school student who gets paid $7 and hour, this is frustrating. Should I dump vista? How much would that cost and how do I do it? I only want my desktop for FS. THATS IT!!! And I can't even get that.

FS9 must run in full screen to take full advantage of the graphics card 's goodies, such as antialiasing and stuff. That's a limitation from FS9, and that's why FSX is working fine for you, cause FSX doesn't have that limitation.
The card you got is good! That's no money down the drain, the card will give you nice graphics over onboard video.
And yeah, get rid of Vista, at least until service packs are available.

you could:
A. Reformat your hard drive and reinstall XP as the operating system
B. Take it back where you bought it (assuming you bought a warranty) and see if they can restore the computer to factory specs, but with XP
C. Either way - you will need another operating system
I know how to reformat a HardDrive - but I'm not sure is VISTA has some secret behind the scenes registry entry that will relly screw up your computer if you try to reformat - It's kind of like HAL from 2001.
On the other hand - the video card you got is a good one - and yes you need to run it in full screen to take advantage of the card.

try this i had the same problem
FS2004 and Vista
Ok here is a tip to make FS2004 work with Vista, you can also apply this tip
to other legacy software.
Right click the icon for FS2004 and click 'properites'
goto the 'compatibility' tab
check the box 'Run this program in compatibility mode for'
then select 'Windows XP (SP2)'
under settings check the follow boxes
'disable visual themes'
'diable desktop composition'
and
'run this program as an administrator'
also make sure when you run the fsnav database creator that you run it as an
administrator or your fsnav will not see the created database
I have used this method to get all of my legace software to run.
FS2004 has run without a hitch. I typically leave FS2004 running for a week
at a time, and its does so without any crashes or issues.
If you do not do the above steps, Vista will attempt to use some of the
advanced windows features for your desktop and FS2004 will stop rendering
graphics.
Also Vista gives FS2004 quite an improvement advantage. My frame rates are
higher and more consistent than FS2004 was with XP. Everything else is the
same of same pc.
Hope this helps.
