I remember my Dad as a 727 F/O and then CAPT with DL flying from DCA-LGA, DCA-BOS and vice-a-versa as one trip. He loved flying the shuttle due to our proximity to DCA he could just drive their instead of, LGA, for instance. Just curious as to why when I pulled up 727 historic flights from LGA, DCA, or BOS there didn't seem to be any shuttle flights available. Thanks guys. It's no big deal just wondering. -Mike

well, at DVA you can fly any aircraft on any route as long as you are rated for the aircraft, the aircraft can safely fly the route ex:(no CRJ transatlantic) and the aircraft can get in and out of the airports safely. Chances are you know that but just a reminder you can fly that flight.

Because those routes were replaced directly with the 738 and finally the MD88. I'm not sure what warrants a "historic flight" as i've seen historic flights in the schedule from LAX-ATL with the MD-11 and we can easily say this is a good example like ur shuttle flights ur talking about. Most historic flights though, are either not operated at all anymore or is not operated by Delta mainline anymore (was operated by a retired aircraft and is now flown by DCI or something). I just read a tread like this last night. Will try to find it and post.

We place routes in the historic flight category for discontinued fleet aircraft (the B727 would comply). In order to make entries, we need actual schedule copies so that the flight number, time of departure and arrival can be entered. If you can send me old schedule copies I would be pleased to enter them into the schedule. Otherwise, if you are rated in the B727 and would like to fly current schedules you are welcome to do so.

Actually Terry, if you guys have specific route pairs in mind that you want on the historic schedule (yes, including yours Michael) I can get all of that for you. I have a contact in Delta and he has a database of all the old timetables up to like the 50's and he could help us.

Andrew, that sounds perfect. I know Dad hopped around the southeast on the Diesel-9 a lot when he first started, stuff like that, areas where might seem kinda "out of the way" by today's standards but back 20 years ago were served by full size delta aircraft not a regional carrier.

I work at DCA for Delta on the shuttle MD-88's, and have 2 35+ year pre-Pan Am Mechanics that remember all the way back to when Pan Am had the shuttle before delta. I love the shuttle.. I dont know why.. but I enjoy working on these 88's every night here..anyway.. my 2 cents..
