Hi everyone.
I need someone to pls help me understand the following. First, I have a core 2 duo processor with 4GB of RAM and NVIDIA 7900GTX Video card. Simulator works perfectly and Im getting amazing Frames.
On various ocations, This happened to me on approach to (ie) london. Just 25 nm from landing, I got message that I ran out of memory and that my Flight Sim will have to shut down.
But I figure with the new PRocessor and the 4GB or RAM, this was virtualy impossible....or is it?
Can someone please help me out to fix this? Could this be maybe because of too many services and programs running while FS? At the time it happened, I was flying PMDG 747 into London Heathrow using Aerosoft scenery. Navigraph on background, fscreen for pictures and connected using Squakbox. (and I guess, all of the other programs windows runs).
I downloaded FS Autostart and I generally always used it on my last system, but on this one, there are just too many services and some programs that I dont know if I can shut them off.
NOD32 is my antivirus and it was running all along.
I saved the flight just before it happened (I always do), and when I loaded the flight again (this time without Navigraph or fscreen), I landed with no problems (Squakbox running).
Any thoughts that could please help me out?
I appreciate your help.

Check to see if your pagefile is turned off. I turned mine off and deleted the file, then performed a defrag. I forgot to turn it back on and got the same error you did.

I checked the option to let the system handle the memory, I have about 130 GB of HD to buffer.
Does this sound good?

I have found that setting the affinity to one core stops a lot of errors with FS9/X. Both seem to have issues with multiple cores.

Neither program was designed to run on multi-core processors, so it's quite possible the program architecture will be unstable on one.

I was running SB3, Activesky, Aerosoft scenery for EGLL and PMDG 747. no ACARS this time...
HELP please! its getting kinda frustrating. Do you think int might be the scenery? All of my settings are maxed out.

Considering how bad a reputation NOD32 has, I'd turn that off and see what happens.

Have you had anything on your task bar, next to the little clock and internet thing like: /!\ Virtual memory minimum too low. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory. During this time some applications may be denied.
Anything like that?

No Alexander, nothing like that.
Through other forums, I came up to this patch for FS9 http://ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php that makes FS9.exe possible to use more than 2 GB of RAM. And I changed the BOOT.INIs boot loader from its default to:
[boot loader]
timeout=15
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /3GB /userva=2560
.....THEN, I found out that FS9 would not start because of something called bglman.dll. I think it ssomething that cloud9 products have a bug with.
So I tried installing something from fsdreamteam http://www.fsdreamteam.com/download/setup_addonmanager.exe That would fix this. But no luck.
Then I found out that the CD protected FS9 was not allowed to use this patch (I didnt know there wsa any other FS9)
so....
Then I had to copy the FS9.exe file from the original CD to replace the patched one on my system and I ran it, to find out that EHAM from CLoud 9 was not updated. I downloaded V1.04 and ran FS again to aparently a normal state.
My boot.ini is still with the modified bood loader ending.
So after all this (unless Im otherwise directed by someone who has experience with this issue), I think I ended up 2 days after, with apparently no fix to my initial problem......snif.....
I still havent had the guts to do a flight to London just to find out 18 nm prior to landing that my system has ran out of memory.
With all this!!!!!
Any thoughts? (Im I pushing the limits?)
Ill post the link to the forum of BAvirtual with the same problem.

Well guys.
I downloaded the nocd FS9.exe, I patched it using the 4GB program and then ran the fsdreamteam add on manager for cloud9.
I tried running FS9 (with no CD) and it loaded perfectly (patched and everything)
Sounds like this could be it. Final test is doing a long haul into LHR and wait to see if Im able to finish it without OOM messages
Thanks again!

I had something like this happen to me once and FS wasn't able to start up again at all. A reboot fixed the problem entirely. However, I don't think this seems to be the problem, considering this has happened multiple times for you.
Hope I helped at all.

One question. When you try and enter your flight sim after this happens, does it say "Flight Simulator (insert number here) is already running."?

I am having the same problem but only out of KSLC. I was able to fly in and out of there with no problems then suddenly, yesterday, fs9 ctd's every time I try to taxi out... I removed all KSLC custom scenery and I continue to have this problem but only at KSLC, nowhere else

In my quest to find out why my FSX won't work right, I found out it was because of my two monitor set up. I also read that, if you set your FPS in FS faster then your refresh rate of your monitor (i.e. my refresh rate of my monitor is 60 and my FPS in FS is set to 32), under a heavy load, VATSIM planes, big scenery, etc, it can cause an issue just like the running out of memory.

YYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
I succesfully completed my flight yesterday into LHR with no OOM messages. (of course, I saved my flight every 30 secs....lol)
But I believe, (hope) the patch and the no cd exe did their job.!!!
I just felt I should share my joy!!! (You all know what it feels like to finaly acomplish a flight that youve been having trouble with for the last 3 days!)
Thanks again for the support!
Cheers
