Ok. Have a new computer, with Vista, and two nVidia 8500 GT 512mb cards (SLI). Problems: (1) Cannot use FS9 in windowed mode without view poblems. Antialiasing goes away when opening SB3 or going to window mode - total boxiness. This is very frustrating. I have spent quite some time doing searches on this issue (including the cooler) and have found out that (1) yes, there is an issue and (2) there does not seem to be a satisfactory solution, at least one that I have been able to successfuly implement. (Not a computer programmer here). Essentially, what I have seen is install an older driver or run nhancer. If anyone has any imput or thoughts it would be greatly appreciated. E.g. what driver and where to get it or the existance of a patch. Spell it out for me, I am not a "guru" but can figure most things out. Thanks,
EDIT: I have gone back further in the cooler and have found some suggestions. Wish nVidia would just solve the problem though...seems so simple.

Well, I have tried earlier drivers and nhance, and it either doesn't work or AA does not work with SB3. I wish I saw this comming, but my intent with the new CPU was to eventually move to FSX. From what I have heard and read, my CPU should handle it alright. But, I will miss my add-ons. Also, if I understand correctly, SB3 is not FSX compatible, therefore you must use FsInn??Are there issues with nVidia and FSX? Any response would be appreciated..............

I can answer one question for you- Squawkbox is not compatible with FS9. So you must revert to FsInn.
Here are some known issues with FSX. Perhaps the "Portable computer displays in full-screen mode" section will help you?":

That's funny Mark, I never had any issues using Squawkbox with FS9. Are you sure don't mean FSX?
Adam, I have an older HP Pavillion with an NVIDIA GEForce 6200 SE video card. I run FSX with FSInn without any major issues. The only complaint that I have is that if I switch tasks with FSX running, it will minimise to the task bar and I have a devil of a time getting it to come back up. I have the box unchecked for "Pause on task switch" by the way.

Adam, I had the same problem and it drove me crazy until I fixed it. What you need to do is download a program called Nhancer. Basically it is a program that allows you to adjust your graphics card settings a little better than just the control panel settings. When you first install it you will see a profile for MS2004. you will have to delete this file and create a new on with FS9.exe set as the destination. From there, read the documentation from the nhancer program to tweak your graphics card. It is a pain in the you no what, but once you find your settings to your liking it is quite a reward. Don't get too frustrated it took me over a week to get mine just right and my flight sim looks incredible. No jaggies no shimmering and my framerates stay a constant 50-65fps. Know I will tell you if you fly with the SB or fsinn control panel on top of your screen, your framerates will drop by about 10 percent but your picture will remain nice and crisp. Send me an email if you need more help.

Also Adam, My own experience, it is with an older Nvidia card however, is not let Nvidia play with Anti-Aliasing. Nvidia and FS fight over that especially when running a 3rd program like FSPax or SB. I have found that even ATI doesn't play nice with FS when it comes to a 3rd party program like those. If you let FS just control it, it seems to work ok. I now have an ATI HD2400 and I let FS control AA and it works great.
