Ok as i understand, a flight is done without any following by the system, so you position a certain tail number in a place, but in the system that is not registered, the fleet as no flight following!
I would like know if that is going to be implemented in the future...I remember having flown for UPSvac and those guys had a pretty nice rotation system, where you flew the aircrfat from point A to B, and when you access the site the aircraft is really in point B, and you have to start your flight from point B with that tail number you just positioned or take a JumpSeat to another airport...
I don't know if you guys understood me, sorry for my english but I'm from Portugal...

So ill put it down this way...
When you fly at DVA, you ar enot flying a tail number, you are just filling ours with "no purpose", because the aircraft is not moving within the website system!
The example I gave is a system where aircraft move around the airports, imagine, you are in KATL and you want to do a flight from KATL to SCEL, you choose an available B767-300ER that is located in KATL, for instance N183DN, so you reserve that aircraft, make the flight, and when you arrive at SCEL, its not only you that is in SCEL, but the aircraft is also there, and it shows in the system, so if anyone after this flight, makes a new one starting from KATL to lets say LIRF, with the same aircraft (N183DN), that wouldnt be possible because the aircraft is in SCEL...

That's the system United uses if I'm not mistaken.
DVA will need to create and run a 24/7 database with the aircraft positions and pilots will need to 'reserve' the aircraft.
How you propose to 'move' certain aircraft from certain destinations ? Also i believe we will need to cheat and create several ghost a/cs ...for example in the 757 or MD88 programs you will find aircrafts 'cause we have lots of them (136 & 117) but what about the 777's ?? there's only eight (8) 777 available...imagine that only 8 people will be able to fly them during the day,what about during weekends or group flights ?.. IMHO this is more realistic BUT will restrict the fun on certain a/c programs.

I was just refering, because I saw it when at UPSvac...and I continue seeing where I am now at SATA Virtual, at UPSvac they solved the problem well, they have a big fleet, but i don't believe they had problems with short fleets (hehehe), at SATA Virtual, we only have 13 aircraft to manage, makes it hard but a pilot gets used to fly as per aircrfat position, and for a suggestive rotation the dispatch service releases every week assignements, they are mere suggestions, but if you arrange with pilots that are within those assignements you can coordinate the rotations! It's a bit hard, we only have one person handling that, the departments is called planning and crew direction, but we only have 13 aircraft to manage 55 crews plus 6 in certification!
Even so, a NOTAM had to be released on intial operation, stating that crews should to the best to keep aircraft at the base, so if you do the outbound leg, the inbound leg should be done ASAP:

One big issue with a detailed dispatch type of system where each aircraft's movements are tracked is that inevitably you will end up with aircraft in places that nobody wants to fly from. You also have the potential for abuse, whereby pilots will make a flight in a particular aircraft, then immediately reserve that aircraft again even if they have no intention of making another flight. By playing the reservation system it is possible for one pilot to keep a particular aircraft reserved in perpetuity, even if they only fly it once or twice a week. I saw exactly that situation at UPSVAC when I flew there. Want a "prestige" aircraft such as a 747 or a 767? Good luck, you're going to need it. The "lesser" aircraft, on the other hand, could sit unused for weeks at a time. It's a system that's open for abuse.
DVA, as Charly pointed out, would have the additional problem of roughly 4 times the number of pilots as there are aircraft for them to fly. For any rotation system to work we'd have to start limiting how many flights someone could make, just so that everyone gets to fly at least once a week. With some programs it would be far worse because the ratio of pilots to aircraft is much, much higher. Given that such a system, while potentially interesting, is just unworkable for this VA.
