when ever i fly now i always run out of memory at some point during my flight. i run FSX, and my computer as 2gb of ram. i never had this problem before, and after i get the error, tak manager tells me it was using 1.2 gb of ram. I reinstalled FS and i have SP1 installed. the only thing i changed was i switched from Macafee to norton.

ok what you need to do is open up the control panel and the open up system maintains and go to advance at the bottom it says a number click next to it and go to custom and make the min 3000 and the max 3000

Take my advice, get rid of Norton. It can take like 30% of your performance away.
Get a freeware copy of AVG. That should do better.

I had this issue just a couple of days ago.
this might work
http://www.deltava.org/thread.do?id=0xf4b3
In the preferences of Windows, I chose the option to let the system handle the memory, instead of puting a digit myelf
Cheers!

Don't let windows handle the swap file size or you'll find yourself waiting for page file size changes constantly.

I had this happen a lot, too. If you have your global scenery settings too high then pretty much the computer maxes out of memory. Also, take David Gomez's advice and stop using Norton or at least disable it. I now use AVG and have had zero problems and have had an increase in frame rates (always a good perk!)

FSX and 2GB Ram doesn't really tell us much/.

i have 2gb of ram (4 Dimms), and AMD 64 3500 (single core), nvidia 6600le video card, and i run windows XP pro. SP3. I know i need an upgrade, but its hard to get a job at my age. my planned upgrade is and AMD X2 6400 (3.2 ghz dual roe) 4gb of ram, ATI HD 3000 series, and Vista home premium 64bit. maybe quad, unsure.
