I was flying as DVA133 and a controller asked me why do we use DVA and not DAL? I always wondered the same thing. If I missed something along the line please correct me but I was looking for a reason why if we are trying to "mimic" Delta, why choose DVA as a callsign. I see a lot of DVA's flying out there so maybe we all could learn a little bit of why.
thanks
Curtis
ps: The friendly controller that spoke to me would also like to see that changed.

You should *technically* use DAL while on VATSIM. That is Delta's real world ICAO identifier.

I have always used DAL when flying Vatsim. I think it is an individual choice.

I used DAL for my VATSIM DVA flights when I was on the 737 program - now that I'm on the CRJ-200 I've been using COM as it would be 'unrealistic' as delta has an all Boeing fleet. When I transition to the CRJ-700 phase out of SLC I plan on flying as SKW. Whatever we can do to make our hobby a little bit more realistic

I use DAL3721 whenever I fly (VATSIM). No matter what aircraft I'm flying. I used to use the flight number, CHQxxxx, COMxxxx, etc.
