Hey everyone, ive been searching for a while everywhere and couldn't find nothing, so im referring back to my favorite webpage and group of people, you guys. well first of all i would like to know if there are any ways or methods, (such as adding a video card) to my laptop in order to improve performance of my Flight Simulator. Flying FSX is almost unthinkable now, i get very low frame rates, and I would like to know if there are any ways in improving the performance of my laptop, since its almost new and I wouldn't like to throw it away, I was hoping you guys could help me out please, its urgent! my system specs are the following:
Gateway
M-6803m
Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 @ 1.50Ghz (2CPUS)
2GB Ram
160GB Hard Drive
Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset
Windows Vista Home Premium
Thank you everyone

Just as an FYI... your processor is a Core 2 Duo (dual core)... it's a single processor. That laptop model does not include two separate / individual processors.
Additionaly, the video card is integrated onto your motherboard. You can't just add a new video card to a laptop, usually if you want to upgrade a video processor on a laptop that requires a complete motherboard replacement (there are exceptions, but they are very rare).
Your current hardware / component specs are on the low end of Vista performance requirements also. David pretty much stated the bottom line, your laptop won't run FSX smoothly with decent framerates without, basically, a complete system upgrade.
I know that's not necessarily what you wanted to hear, but that's the reality unfortunately. I had a similar issue with a laptop I purchased for my wife... I was hoping that due to the processor and memory in the system that it would overcome some of the low end video chipset so I could play WoW on it. Frames were so bad it was not even worth trying.
