If memory serves me correctly, you can punch in the lat/lon coordinates (ie. 56/40) as they are. Just point the waypoints in one at a time, direct to.

You type in the LAT/LON into the FMC just like any other waypoint. The LDS 767 FMC uses the following format for LAT/LON waypoints: NxxWxxx (using a NW coordinate, obviously substitute S for South and E for East as required). Replace the x with a number.
X YAY HECKK 53/50 55/40 55/30 54/20 MALOT BURAK
Using the NAT track X example above, the LAT/LON coordinates would be entered in as N53W050. Notice that for the west coordinate the number 50 is obviously not 3 digits long as required. So you MUST add a leading 0 (zero) for the FMC to understand what you want....so 50 would become 050.

The LAT/LON waypoints are just another fix in the route. You select it up to the right hand side of the FMC just like every other waypoint/fix you enter into the FMC.
